DIVING IN THE PHILIPPINES

Thanks to the many surrounding ocean currents you find in the Philippines one of the riches marine biodiversities in the world. On vertical walls and overgrown reefs you find numerous sponges, corals and anemones together with fish, slugs, snails and many more. The diving tourism in the Philippines helps to install marine parks and fish sanctuaries. In those areas fishing of any kind is prohibited by law.

 

 

DUCKS DIVING IN THE PHILIPPINES

Ducks Diving International is always searching for new challenges and new diving spots. The Philippines are one of the nearly undiscovered diving destinations in Asia and so an ideal complement to the existing diving schools in Egypt. Peter, the oldest of the Three P, worked as a diving instructor at Ducks Diving International, Safaga, Egypt, before he opened together with his two brothers Philipp and Patrick the Three P Resort on Romblon Island. This resort is the perfect location for the first Ducks Diving School in Asia. The school offers individual dive tour planning, boat trips to the coast and the nearby islands with exclusive dive spots. There are also Nitrox, early morning and night dives available. The training follows the SSI guidelines. The nearest decompression chambers are located in Batangas, Cebu and Manila. PHOTO GALLERY

 

 

COMPRESSORS AND EQUIPMENT

There are more than 22 bottles in different sizes available. 12 liter tanks made of aluminum, but also 15 liters for bigger lungs and 6 to 10 liter tanks for the youngest divers. All outlets are equipped with DIN connections, but there are enough adapters for regulators with INT connections, too. All tanks are checked regularly. The tanks are filled by two Bauer-Compressors K-14. To guarantee the high quality of the air, there is a checkup schedule named “Aircheck” fixed in the European regulation DIN-EN
12021. NITROX AVAILABLE FOR FREE.

At the Ducks Diving School there are 20 complete diving equipments:
• regulators by Scubapro
• dive jackets by Seeman Sub and Scubapro
- men’s clothing sizes 46 to 60 (S to XXL) and special sizes
- women’s clothing sizes 36 to 44 (S to XXL) and special sizes
• masks and snorkels made by different manufacturer
(also optical masks from -5 to -2 dpt)

DIVING SPOTS

 

Romblon is the perfect location for fans of the rare macro fauna, like a variety of frogfish, scorpion fish, lionfish, slugs and sea horses but you can also find turtles, sea snakes, moray eels, different swarm fish and much more. The most exiting diving experience is the discovery of unknown spots around Romblon and the exclusive trip there. The different diving spots are suitable for different skill levels and for all training and experience level.

We dive in small groups of not more than six participants using traditional bancas (outrigger boats). We dive every day of the week, the whole year. The water is always convenient with temperatures between 22°C and 29°C (72°F to 84°F) The sight distance under water is at least 15 meters (50 feet). PHOTO GALLERY

 

 

THE BOATS

At the dive school there are two outrigger boats named Salvar and Noemi. They are traditionally built bancas, remodeled to meet the needs of the diving sport and used to bring the divers to the nearby dive locations. For short trips the smaller boat Noemi is used. It is spacious enough for six divers and their equipment. For daytrips the big boat Salvar is the right choice. It is suitable for 15 divers and their diving gear. The boat is furnished with a sun deck, toilet and a platform for an easy water access. For sure, none of the guests have to carry their own gear. The crew is always around to help out. PHOTO GALLERY
